Established in 2014 in partnership with the U.S. Department of State, the Silicon Valley Office of Protocol:
· Supports 54 cities and 5 counties outside of San Francisco in Silicon Valley, including San Jose.
· Works with the U.S. Department of State, Embassy advance teams, Consular officials and international advance teams to coordinate Head of State and Head of Government visits to Silicon Valley.
· Provides protocol guidance to local businesses, non-profits and advocacy groups.
· Is responsible for all diplomatic arrivals, departures, and airport courtesies at San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC).
With the support of the Silicon Valley Host Committee, a group of Silicon Valley “legends and leaders”, the Silicon Valley Office of Protocol helps to provide introductions among key individuals and works to connect local business leaders and elected officials with their international counterparts to assist in assuring forward progress for our region.
Helping businesses, government officials, organizations and individuals in Silicon Valley put their "best face forward" is the primary focus of the Silicon Valley Office of Protocol.
