Silver Linings is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the health and welfare of children. We have been helping kids for 25 years. Our current focus is on providing free programs in culinary education, nutrition, and health to underpriviledged children and bringing similar programs to underserved schools and communities.
We work with a number of partners whose talent, knowledge, and resources helps us put together meaningful programs. As part of this, we donate hydroponic gardening systems to the schools and community centers so kids may watch these gardens bloom over time, harvest the food, and learn about nutrition and sustainable community gardening and agriculture. We find that when kids grow and cook their own foods they are excited about and open to new foods and better nutrition. Learning cooking skills also helps empower our kids to both be more independent and work cooperatively.
