Silver Linings, a nonprofit organization, works actively towards quality and inclusive education for blind children, a residential facility for blind girls, empowerment of blind women, preventing avoidable blindness, diversity & inclusion. Preeti Monga, blind since childhood, (Founder & CEO of Silver Linings, has been working towards education, inclusion &empowerment of the blind, and prevention of blindness, directly/indirectly impacting millions since 1987! Preeti is the first blind Aerobics Instructor known, a celebrated Motivation Speaker & counselor! Recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the National Award presented to her by the President of India for her groundbreaking work towards employment and self-employment of people with disabilities in 2013 & the Exceptional Achievement in Entrepreneurship Award by the Delhi Government in 2015! OUR PROJECTS: Shiksha Preparatory school and resource center for blind children in East Delhi, that prepares, includes, and supports their education in regular schools under inclusive education. Ensuring equal opportunity, quality education, and mainstreaming for them! Shiksha Hostel for Blind Girls Quality and secure hostel for visually impaired girls & a comprehensive training center. Trauma Counseling We counsel newly disabled people and their families, to accept disability quickly; move towards required rehabilitation, and get back into mainstream life! We sensitize doctors & medical professionals to refer newly blind to provide timely guidance! SELF SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS Motivation & Diversity trainings, POSH Consultancy. Donations to Silver Linings are exempted from income tax under Section 80 G.
