The new Silver Stallion is a nonprofit “recyclery” bike shop and coffee shop located in downtown Gallup, NM. The Stallion’s name and identity derives from a now defunct saloon, historically known for abetting substance abuse and eventually forced to close its doors. Ten years later, the Stallion sign was donated and relocated downtown to its new home where its doors are once again swinging, inviting social gathering, community, and education. The Silver Stallion Bicycle & Coffee Works, Inc. Nonprofit mission is to empower and develop in youth and young adults vocational skills in the bicycle repair and specialty coffee industries.
