American landscape architect trained in (California) the United States and (Versailles) France, David Simonson founded his agency in Paris (10th), working for individuals and professionals in the private and public sector. His creations express a desire to evaluate our way of living, looking at and designing the landscape in the face of climate change by using innovative and ecological materials and construction methods.
In 2022, botanist gardener Thibault Rouet is joining forces with Simonson Landscape to create bespoke parks and gardens in France and abroad. Their skills and their shared passion for gardens allow them to offer exceptional service and support their clients from project design to delivery.
Passionate about materials, plants, and art, we think of landscapes and gardens as living sculptures, always unique, triggering emotions. The goal is to create comfortable spaces informed by the client's personality. The character of the existing site, the history of the landscape and the architecture are key elements in creating a garden that expresses the meaning and spirit of the place.
Passionate landscape gardeners and botanists, their ecological gardens combine the spatial design of the exterior with the vegetation to create a natural, sensitive garden in touch with the environment. Plants play a key role in the design process for the landscape team that uses planting palettes of rustic vegetation, exotic plants, resilient plants, and native plants. Our vision of the garden is one of an augmented nature, constructed in harmony with indigenous and naturalised plants. Our parks and gardens are scalable and we allow time for the plants to settle, to anchor themselves to the ground according to their requirements as living beings which belong to nature. Our designs offer eco-responsible projects that are made in France and elsewhere with respect for the environment.
