Symbiosis Institute of Technology, a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) was established in the year 2008 and offers B.Tech degrees in a variety of fields, but mechanical engineering was one of the first to be offered at SIT. Mechanical Engineering Department has highly qualified teaching faculty with specializations in Design, Thermal, Manufacturing, and CAD/CAM. Department thrust research areas include computational fluid dynamics, e-mobility, Industry 4.0, 3D printing, advanced composite materials, optimization, Finite Element Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, HVAC systems, and more. The department has fully equipped laboratories like I.C. Engines lab, Strength of Materials lab, Theory of Machines lab, CAD lab, Refrigeration / Air Conditioning lab, Heat Transfer lab, E-Mobility lab, Advanced Robotics & Industry 4.0 Lab, Workshop and others.
