Sixpenny Additive is a Canadian service bureau dedicated to the production of large-format, fully dense metal components using advanced Directed Energy Deposition (DED) technology. As the additive manufacturing division of Sixpenny Architectural Fabrication, we combine precision metalworking, digital design, and systems integration to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
We are proud to be the official Canadian distributor and robotic integrator for Meltio, a global leader in wire-laser DED. Our production platform is built around the Meltio Engine—a compact, high-performance print head that uses standard welding wire and a multi-laser system to build near-net-shape metal parts. With robotic integration, we offer unmatched flexibility in part size, orientation, and hybrid manufacturing workflows.
Our services are ideal for industries like aerospace, energy, defense, marine, and heavy equipment, where traditional manufacturing methods are too slow or costly for large, low-volume, or custom parts. Common applications include structural brackets, augers, turbine housings, manifolds, heat exchangers, and fuel system components—as well as repair and cladding of rolls and tooling.
As a Meltio-equipped service bureau, we offer full-cycle support: from additive design and DfAM consultation, to robotic printing, post-processing, and final QA. We also support the deployment of Meltio systems across Canada, providing engineering guidance, installation, and integration support for manufacturers looking to bring DED capabilities in-house.
