In the year 2022 we had 16360 people working in contact centres and BPO sector in Zimbabwe. Currently we have 73 organisations with in-house and outsourcing contact centres which will translate in more jobs and foreign currency earnings. The call centre cluster, and the broader business process outsourcing industry which is a central part, is now growing in Zimbabwe with proper government structure now needed to promote the sector. Leading private operators like Econet are investing hugely into the BPO sector and targeting to create over thousands of jobs in the next two years. In 2018 alone the Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe received investment and country readiness enquiries from over 40 international BPO operators and potential clients. A proper structure is now needed through the setting up of the government linked BPO Council that drives the growth of the sector working closely with industry associations like Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe and the private sector.
