Skibo Energy is a company founded on the deep desire to eliminate the demand for fossil fuel and reverse the carbon emissions factors contributing to climate change. This has been our motivation for decades. For the last ten years, we have been dedicated to approaching the problem in three ways: designing a thermal energy storage system, investing in clean energy companies and supporting the rapid substitution of internal combustion engines with zero emission electric vehicles.
First, Skibo Energy is in the early stages of designing and building an energy generation system which will store Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) heat in solid sensible Thermal Energy Storage (TES). Our TES technology will enable the cost effective and efficient storage of utility-scale thermal energy from the sun, to be used on demand by energy providers, businesses and consumers. The ability to overcome the intermittent nature of renewable, sustainable energy sources has been the final challenge to completely disrupting our global reliance on fossil fuels.
Second, to fund the R&D and operations of the TES initiative, the founders of Skibo Energy are investing their own resources. They have applied their deep experience in the energy industry and their insightful vision for the future to generating significant capital. By using every available means to invest in other fast growing, clean energy companies, Skibo Energy has so far succeeded in being self-funded and investing only in mission-aligned, green technology. By utilizing this approach, Skibo Energy is contributing to the multiplier effect of advancing the cause.
And finally, having studied the many barriers and challenges standing between us and the planet-saving, energy abundant future, we recognize that only the rapid substitution of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles with zero emission vehicles (ZEV) can create the tipping point necessary to reach the goal.
