Skilled Trades Empowerment Project (STEP) is a charitable organization dedicated to assisting New Jersey students in their pursuit of learning and working in the trades, skilled labor force, and applied sciences fields.
It is our mission and goal to bring opportunity and dignity to every student interested in a skilled trade career, especially students who have not traditionally been encouraged to explore these fields.
Our organization is partly made up by current and former educators who have both professional and educational experience in the trades. We aim to assist students who are still in high school and would like to explore skilled trades and industries, as well as future and recent graduates of high school who are ready to enter a trade-based school, training program, or apprenticeship.
