SLO Community Cares, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was created to oversee and support the SLO Community Holiday Feast (established in 1997) and the Care Packages for Christmas Campaign (established in 1998)!
Every year, on Christmas Day, the SLO Community Holiday Feast provides a decadent holiday dinner and live musical entertainment to San Luis Obispo County’s unhoused population and anyone facing food insecurity.
This occasion is used to gift those experiencing homelessness with much needed winter clothing care packages to help them survive our cold, wet winters.
The care packages typically contain brand-new: sleeping bags, hooded sweatshirts, winter jackets, beanies, socks, scarves, gloves, handwarmers, toiletries , and more.
The Care Packages for Christmas Campaign has enabled us to obtain this much-needed merchandise.
