Since the establishment, the location of SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta has changed three times, First, when it was standing in the Kasatriyan Baluwarti Elementary School building, then borrowed the Banjarsari Christian Junior High School building, only after the successful construction of the building on Jl. LU Adi Sucipto No. 1 Manahan, Solo (UNESCO/UN aid government project) in 1957, permanently owns its own building until now.
