The Intelligent Systems and Industry 4.0 Laboratory (Smart4i) was founded in 2021, and is part of the Innovation Center of the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Paraíba (IFPB). Several researchers are currently working on projects at the Smart4i, including professors, research fellows, and undergraduate and graduate students. The main research areas are Industry 4.0, Advanced Manufacturing, Intelligent Automation Systems, Embedded Systems and Internet of Things. Both applied and basic research activities are carried out by the researchers, through the execution of innovation and development projects in partnership with companies, as well as basic research aligned with the group's research areas, which results in the development of new technologies and systems for industry, as well as high-impact scientific contributions.
