We are growing great business by helping heartland business owners to confidently do better business every day. WHO ARE WE? SmartMate was established in 2018, by Justine Kidd. Justine has many years of business leadership experience across the agriculture sector, not for profit organisations as well as facilitation and consulting work and it is this experience that led to the formation of SmartMate. Justine’s vision for SmartMate is to remove headache’s from day to day business, through the use of simple every day tools and grow better business in Heartland New Zealand. Justine is currently the Managing Director for SmartMate, providing the vision and leadership to drive the business through the initial stages of development and growth. Justine’s years of experience in business leadership have been instrumental in the design of good quality tools and resources that form the base of the SmartMate plans. Each of the SmartMate toolkits are rich in resources that have proven success out in the field. Justine keeps busy – she is also the CEO for Theland Farm Group, leading their national dairy farming business producing 10mkgMS from 26,000 cows on 25 dairy farms located in Canterbury and through the Central North Island.  This business has a global agriculture and food strategy focusing on adding value from farms to markets, the connected Theland retail brand is in over 4700 supermarkets throughout China and also sells through online and TV channels.  In 2017, Justine received the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the dairy industry and equestrian sports in the New Year’s Honours. She was also recognised as the 2015 Hawkes Bay Primary Sector Industry Leader and was named the NZ Dairy Women of the Year in 2013. Early in 2018, Justine brought Rachael Riddell on board to support her getting SmartMate off the ground. Rachael is passionate about working with talented owner operators and business managers, helping them eliminate headaches one by one. There is no thing as a one size fits all for small dynamic businesses, so the technical experience she’s gained in business management, project management, team leadership, financial management, work place safety, training coordination and customer service across her roles in both not-for-profit and commercial businesses gives her good foundation to draw from. Rachael works closely with SmartMate members, arming herself with our simple to use tools and enjoys finding creative solutions for challenges outside of the ordinary. HOW DO WE GROW GREAT BUSINESS?
