There are a lot of Stupas-Chaityas- small temples with low, ornate archways and tiny temples containing one lone idol- all are an integral piece of the unique mosaic that is Kathmandu. To really discover the Kathmandu Valley you need to begain exploring from well beyond the city limits and travels in from the outside in order to touch its spiritual roots.
