With the global theme The Future of Now, the Berlin edition of Social Media Week takes place on September 22 - 26 2014, and is organized by Social Media Week Berlin e.V. All lectures are free of charge. All Masterclasses and workshops are accessible with an SMW INSIGHT and EXECUTIVE pass. Social Media Week’s mission is to capture, curate and share the most meaningful ideas, trends, and best practices with regard to the social web’s impact on society, culture and business. Social Media Week is a media and publishing platform plus a worldwide event, which takes place twice a year in 26 cities across five continents including Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia. Social Media Week Berlin’s hubs are the conference and co-working space SUPERMARKT, PLATOON Kunsthalle and the Startup campus FACTORY Berlin. SMW was brought to life by Toby Daniels in New York. Around 66.000 people worldwide, 4.000 alone in Berlin, visited an edition of Social Media Week last year. The Twitter hashtag is #SMWBerlin. Our speakers are founders, Vice Presidents, CMOs, CTOs and developers from Google, Facebook, AirBnB, Microsoft, Bosch, Wikirate Project, Skype, KLM, Pay With A Tweet and VICE, and more will be confirmed over the next few weeks The program addresses themes such as Work & Enterprise, Ethical Economy, Society & Politics, Tech & Innovation, Creative Collision and Lifestyle. A Jobs Fair will also take place.
