SolaQuaGen is a young UK company that has developed and proven a radically new technology for desalination of salt water and cleaning contaminated water using either waste heat or solar energy.
The Company has received a series of progressively larger grants from the UK's prestigious Technology Strategy Board (now Innovate UK) and Department of Energy and Climate Change. These have enabled the company to prove the technology in operating conditions and establish a full size demonstrator facility. A commercial show case facility is operational in the west of England.
International patents are pending for the technology.
The cost of desalination is approximately 30 % less than equivalent conventional desalination plants for small to medium sized desalination plants and uses 75% less energy, thus for the first time offering a environmentally friendly desalination solution for the looming global water crisis.
The company is launching commercial sales during 2015 with three principal products:
