SAIA is a 501c3 charitable organization and is a one-of-a-kind global patient-clinician led collaborative in the IBD space.
Our mission is to create resources, research and education for IBD patients and healthcare providers of South Asian origin to minimize disparities, dispel stigma, promote early diagnosis and improve access to treatment.
SAIA’s primary goal is to come together as patients and multidisciplinary clinicians from South Asia and the diaspora to undertake the following initiatives:
1. Create patient education around IBD
2. Promote professional development of multidisciplinary providers in the IBD space
3. Develop key research ideas on multidisciplinary topics and execute to showcase need for better care and treatment options
4. Pursue more affordable medication access via pharmaceuticals and payers.
5. Develop a robust clinical trial program
