The purpose of Southeast Asian Union is to promote cultural awareness of the Southeast Asian community and to provide a safe and open space for students to express themselves in. We aim to empower the Southeast Asian community of UCSB by hosting workshops, creating discussion on cultural matters, and celebrating SEA uniqueness.
We also aim to empower Southeast Asian youth to explore higher education, their identity, and community problems. To achieve this, we host an annual overnight youth conference, SEARCH (Southeast Asians Reaffirming Cultural Heritage) for underprivileged high school students throughout California.
