Nur 20 Minuten von Bern realisiert die Stiftung Sternwarte Uecht im Naturpark Gantrisch in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Bern und weiteren Partnern das Space Eye - Observatorium für Weltraum und Umwelt. Das Space Eye ist das neue Schweizer Zentrum für Astronomie, Weltraumwissenschaft und Klimaveränderung auf der Erde. Botschafter des Projektes ist Astronaut Prof. Claude Nicollier. Realisiert wird es vom Tessiner Architekten Mario Botta.
