Sparkbrook Children’s Zone (SCZ) is an integrated child health, health promotion and early help service. We work with children and young people under 16 with medical problems and offer social and family support advice to the whole family. To support the wider community, we run health promotion activities in local schools and community venues.
SCZ is a partnership initiative jointly delivered by doctors from Birmingham Children’s Hospital, GreenSquareAccord’s Early Help Team, and South Doc Service’s. We are funded by the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board. The service aims to address child health inequalities and is an NHS England transformation pilot for integrated paediatric health and early help social care.
Our service is hyper-local in focus operating in Sparkbrook, Sparkhill and Balsall Heath schools, community partners and open to the 14,000 children registered in the Balsall Heath, and Moseley and Sparkhill Primary Care Network (PCN).
