New Academy for 11 - 16 year olds in Poole. Covering Secondary Education. The Academy specialises in Sport and Mathematics. St. Aldhelm’s Academy, a community for 12-19 year olds, where innovative learning and teaching, and traditional values go hand in hand with a caring, supportive Christian ethos. The Academy is an exciting place to learn, where we are committed to ensuring everyone can take full advantage of a broad range of opportunities to develop their talents and abilities in a culture of respect and exemplary behaviour. Sport and Mathematics specialisms are an integral part of our stimulating, creative curriculum, and our Academy Day enables learners to extend their studies and take part in a diverse variety of enrichment activities. The Academy is organised around Houses, where young people are part of and learn in small family communities from all the year groups. Each young person has a say in the design of their learning plan and is supported by a mentor who coaches them to succeed. Sponsored by Diocese of Salisbury and Bournemouth University, the Academy brings together the Church of England’s core values and the university’s proven record in learning, teaching and research.
