The St. Louis Apparel Manufacturing company is an innovative high tech apparel manufacturing facility utilizing 20,000 plus square feet of space in the heart of St.Louis' Garment District in Downtown St. Louis. The facility is creating 60-85 new jobs and is bringing millions of dollars worth of business in the knitwear and athleticwear sector of the fashion industry to St. Louis. Nearly 35% of the multi-trillion dollar global fashion industry is comprised of knitwear and nearly all is currently manufactured in China. This project will reshore that business in heart of St. Louis and will reinvigorate the Garment District which thrived as a staple of the local economy from the turn of the century until the end of WW II.
The two leaders behind the venture, John Elmuccio and Jon Lewis, have 60 years of experience between them in the fashion manufacturing space. They have worked for Warnaco, Ralph Lauren, Famous Barr and other brands and Jon has helped launch manufacturing operations across the globe. Saint Louis Apparel Manufacturing will be utilizing the latest 3-D knitting and WHOLEGARMENT technology at a scale unseen in the domestic market.
