St. Servatius' College was established on the 02nd of November 1897 by a Belgian Rev.Father Augustus Standard on a small block of land on the bank of river Nilwala at Pallimulla, Matara.
St.Servatius' College is famous & main school in Southern province & Sri Lanka.It is Situated in Matara .
During the since in start of the school has produced a large number of Intellectuals, Economists, Administrators, High Ranking State Officers, eminent lawyers, Doctors, Engineers, Sport Star, including international figures.
From the beginning, the school has achieved a great place for sports. The football team had won the championship among the schools in Southern Province. The school Cricket Team rank as the second oldest team to play annual school encounter matches. The school has produced both Cricketers and Football Players at international level.
At present there are over 3,000 students following education in this college. Students are provided with facilities to follow studies in all the three streams of studies Science, Arts and Commerce. The Motto of the school says "BE A MAN" which is great tribute both for the Architects of the school and those who have achieved great heights by making use of the limited human and physical resources of the school.
