Startup Weekend is a global framework for bringing together people in the community over a weekend to turn an idea into a business. Participants, mentors, judges and volunteers come together over 54 hours to whittle down, validate, and execute the best ideas.
Startup Weekend Louisville is led by a team of volunteer organizers from the Louisville business, academic, and entrepreneurial community.
Louisville’s first Startup Weekend was in 2012 and gathered about 40 attendees (39 men and 1 woman). City Anchor, lead by Dave Durand was the chosen winner for the first event. Louisville has continuously hosted Startup Weekend twice a year since then, and in Spring 2017 we celebrated our 10th consecutive event, a milestone no other team has yet achieved.

We’re always looking for volunteers and community support to help financially (to pay for food and supplies) or through in kind services to support the entrepreneurs after the event through coaching, mentoring or professional support services like accounting, legal, marketing, insurance or banking.
