Steel Toad is a small boutique software development agency, founded in 2016, that works primarily with successful B2B SaaS startups / companies.
Our most popular offering is providing principal software engineers (10+ years hands-on experience, including key engineering positions at high-growth startups) to help our clients fill skill, experience or capacity gaps in their engineering teams. Principal software engineers can make or break the success of a startup, but they are also notoriously difficult for startups to recruit and retain, so having access to them on an as-needed basis (from a few hours a month up to 40 hours a week) has been extremely valuable for our clients.
All our projects are led by either Justin Tilson or Dave Koo, who were previously co-founders at Elastic Path Software, a B2B E-Commerce Software company that they helped grow from 0 to $6 million USD in annual revenue and 70 people in the first few years they were there. So when companies hire us, they aren't just hiring veteran software engineers, they're also hiring successful, scrappy, creative and resilient founders who know what it takes to deliver world-class software.
