Started in 2019 as a passion project, Step Ahead India was formally registered as a non-profit organisation in 2023. It is a youth-led initiative dedicated to unlocking impactful careers for Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences (AHSS) graduates, especially from Tier 2/3 cities and marginalised communities - in Fellowships, Young Professional roles, Government Consulting, Think Tanks and CSR roles.
Our Vision is to build an India where no youth is underemployed due to lack of awareness or guidance, where graduates from every background can step ahead into purposeful, resilient careers and transform communities.
To achieve this our team offers:
- Career awareness via YouTube (42K+), LinkedIn (30K+), WhatsApp, and 550+ on-ground sessions across 50+ colleges
- Equip youth with 21st-century employability skills through structured Fellowship & Career Readiness Programs.
- Offer personalized mentorship by 1500+ selected fellows & professionals, ensuring tailored guidance from application to selection.
- Partner with recruiters & social sector organizations to secure placements and drive long-term career growth.
- Sustain a unique peer-mentorship loop, where alumni become mentors, creating a self-growing ecosystem.
Our mission is to mentor, skill and place AHSS graduates into impact-driven roles, creating a sustainable talent pipeline for India’s social & development sector, while empowering these young changemakers to uplift thousands more. As of 31st May 2025, we have reached over 15.8 lakh youth through digital initiatives; trained 38,000+ aspirants in employability skills; placed 4,500+ aspirants in fellowships, YP, NGO & CSR roles and fostered a community where 30%+ alumni give back, amplifying impact to lakhs more.
