The overarching purpose of STEPforGGR is to form a coherent research and training network of world-leading institutions in the multidisciplinary and intersectoral subject areas of physics, chemistry, engineering and manufacturing to promote a novel greenhouse gas removal (GGR) technology: removal of non-CO2 greenhouse gases (GHGs) utilising large-scale atmospheric photocatalysis (PC) enabled by solar up-draft towers (SUTs).
To achieve such a significant output, STEPforGGR is formed of a consortium of six world-leading research organizations and one industrial partner. Each research organization contributes their own theoretical or experimental expertise in the fields of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), numerical modelling, photocatalysis, materials chemistry, chemical engineering, process engineering, membrane technology, SUT and NET.
