Stichting Stéphanos Overview

Het doel van Stéphanos is om in Malawi en Zambia vanuit Bijbels perspectief diaconale hulp en onderwijs te brengen aan de meest kwetsbaren, met name weeskinderen. Deze hulp is gebaseerd op Reformatorische grondslag. Het doel van het verschaffen van materiële hulp is het bevorderen van zelfstandigheid en vermijden van langdurige afhankelijkheid. Malawi en Zambia zijn twee erg arme landen (Malawi is één van de armste landen ter Wereld), waar veel problemen zijn zoals hongersnoden en ziektes. Één van de grootste problemen in Malawi en Zambia is het grote aantal weeskinderen, in elk land meer dan 1.000.000! Veel van deze kinderen hebben hun ouder(s) verloren aan HIV/AIDS en zijn zelf ook besmet. Zij staan er nu alleen voor, ze hebben niemand die voor hen kan of wil zorgen.
