Stokey Energy Overview

We are a grassroots community energy group, set up by a group of individuals with varied professional experience in sustainability, construction, planning, energy and the built environment and a combined commitment to supporting on the ground action to move our neighbourhood of Stoke Newington in Hackney, London towards zero carbon. Inspired by the kids' global climate action protests, we decided to stop waiting for a top down solution and start finding ways to help generate change on the local level. Taking solar energy as our starting point, we have worked to facilitate solar installations on both individual private roofs and on larger cultural institutions and schools. We are also developing a way to use our expertise to provide advice on retrofit, one of the next biggest challenges within the UK construction industry.
