De visie van Stop Straatintimidatie is een samenleving waarbinnen iedereen in Nederland gelijke toegang heeft tot de publieke ruimte, en zich daarin met een veilig gevoel kan bewegen zonder belemmering of hinder van derden. Dat klinkt vanzelfsprekend, maar dat is het niet. Denigrerende, dreigende en/of seksueel agressieve opmerkingen en uitingen in het openbaar op basis van geslacht, genderuitdrukking, of seksuele oriëntatie maken onderdeel uit van het straatbeeld in Nederland. De term voor dit fenomeen is straatintimidatie. Het is onze missie om een einde te maken aan straatintimidatie in Nederland.
At Stichting Stop Straatintimidatie, our mission is to end street harassment in the Netherlands. We do this through public awareness, innovative means of connection and support for victims, networking with like-minded organisations and lobbying for legal measures against perpetrators. Our vision is for a society in which everyone in the Netherlands, regardless of sex, gender or gender expression, feels safe moving through public spaces.
