"MOTION", is a Centre of Entrepreneurship (CoE) in Autonomous/ Connected/ Electric / Shared (ACES) Mobility, an initiative of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology at Pune, with specialized state-of-the-art incubation facility and domain specific physical laboratories for start-ups working in the area of Autonomous Connected Electric Shared Mobility where the highest-standards and best-practices in terms of infrastructure, technology, leadership, mentoring, training, research & development, funding, networking for the given focus area is made available.
Pune region is a well-established Automotive Industry cluster as well one of the most prominent hubs of the IT industry. It is home to the largest automotive corporates as well as IT MNCs. Further, adequate support is available from the State Govt of Maharashtra which has its own EV Policy and Electronics Policy in place and has identified Automotive Sector as a focus area under its Start-up Policy.
The future of mobility is electric, shared, autonomous, and connected. In India, the automobile industry occupies a prominent place due to its deep forward and backward linkages with several key segments of the economy. With demand in place and strong government push, the stage is set for rapid growth of Automotive: ACES industry in India.
