Student Writers Studio was founded by Elizabeth Busekrus in 2016 after she saw a need to reach out to the students in the St. Louis region. As the Writing Lab Coordinator of Missouri Baptist University, she received many first generation college students who needed additional assistance to continue their education. Statistics show that if a student has not been engaged in writing and reading by sixth grade, they are more than likely to fall behind. Student Writers Studio wishes to engage these students with meaningful writing and develop their voices and instill confidence in today’s youth.
