Supercruise Capital was incorporated in 2019 to consolidate the activities of Hobby Club Australia. The plan is to develop a retail conglomerate that is owner operated and delivers strong returns on invested capital through superior market understanding and customer service.
The first acquisition was completed by Supercruise in September 2020, when Collectors Aircraft Models Australia was added to the stable. This was done to generate strong synergies with the existing business, as both addressed quite seperate parts of the market, while each had assets the other could leverage off. The acquisition was completed for less than net-current-asset value, essentially de-risking the operation.
Supercruise also engages in a small amount of public market investing, however this is not a focus of the business in the formative years.
