Surul Suprity Society initially started working in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Suri, Birbhum, in and around the tribal areas of Santiniketan. We received the District Best Club award under Nehru Yuva Kendra, Birbhum, Govt. of India. Later, we became associated with NABARD as one of its CDAs (Cluster Development Agency). From 2008 to 2013, we worked according to the project line ‘Tourism cum Handicraft Cluster in and around Santiniketan’ under NABARD. We are working to improve the SHGs, Villagers and Farmers during this interval and even after. We held complex training programmes, cultural functions, and seminars in our society complex. Our Society works with NABARD, Bose Institute, Kolkata, BIRD, Bolpur, Bharatiya Suramondal Academy, Santiniketan, Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE), to continue the growth and sustainability of the Kantha Stitch Cluster, in collaboration with MSME, under the SFURTI scheme of Govt. of India and other organisations.
