Sustainability, green transition, and innovation are the three major pillars of collaboration between India and Sweden. Both countries have been co-operating in the areas of energy, environment, and urban development under existing MoUs for promotion of research and development and introduction of sustainable technologies.
Team Sweden (Embassy of Sweden, Consulate General of Sweden, and Business Sweden) along with Swedish Energy Agency and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has established the Sustainability by Sweden ecosystem in India to promote joint research, innovation, co-creation and expertise exchange.
India-Sweden Innovations Accelerator (ISIA) is one of the important engines of collaboration actively working for past 10 years towards promoting green collaborations between the two countries. To showcase innovative Swedish cleantech companies in an Indian smart city context, a dedicated showroom has been set-up at Business Sweden’s office in New Delhi.
Adding another feather to the cap, Team Sweden has conceptualized the platform – India Sweden Green Transition Partnership (ISGTP). This partnership will be a commitment towards joint efforts and responsibilities for building a climate-neutral future.
To replicate Sweden’s Triple Helix Model, leading Indian conglomerates - Mahindra, Aditya Birla, BYPL, Tata Power DDL are onboarded as industry partner along with India’s top technology institutes – IIT- Delhi, IIT-Bombay, and IIT-Madras as academic and research partners.
