Sustainable Development Initiatives Overview

SDI is a National & International Non-Governmental, Non-Partisan and Non-Profit Civil Society Organization (CSO). Expanding its activities from employment creation through entrepreneurship enhancement, advocacy on education, Gender and Youth issues, empowerment for rural women, Health and Environment, SRHR, Climate Change, emerging issues, Human and Food Security to Governance and decentralized structure including Cooperate justice. We are currently working with deprived and marginalized communities in Sierra Leone, Uganda, Kenya and Liberia. VISION We seek communities where access to social justice, sustainable peace and development are maintained at all levels. Core messages of the vision. – Education is a human right and vital for sustainable development. – All people have the right to influence their own life and society. – All people have the right to a fair share of the national and world’s resources. MISSION We work with rural communities and marginalized groups to promote socio-economic development through education, skills development, advocacy, research, networking etc. in a bid to achieve social justice for all. Core message of the Mission; - Commitment to identifying potentials from vulnerable groups; helping them make meaningful contributions as returns to development in local communities and fully realize social change for human family thereby providing critical thinking, program satisfaction and ownership. The organization is set up with the aim of using Sustainable Development initiatives to combat the marginalization of women in socio-economic and political activities at the community level and fight poverty, hunger and illiteracy. Human rights abuses and diseases especially among women and children with a special reference to the girl child through grassroots initiatives involving local people and support from national government and goodwill international agencies, leading to influencing and coordinating plans and strategies to end poverty.
