Sustainable Selkirk is a community project by local charity Selkirk Regeneration. Its mission is to help all tenants and homeowners save energy, save money and save emissions. Their friendly team of trained Energy Advisors provide home visits and community outreach sessions, to deliver free and impartial energy advice and support across the Scottish Borders.
Sustainable Selkirk Advisors will be able to support clients by;
• identifying ways to save energy and save money
• helping understand energy bills and tariffs
• showing how to use their heating controls effectively and efficiently
• speaking to their energy suppliers on their behalf
• installing soft energy-efficiency packs (low-energy lightbulbs, draughtproofing, remote-controlled plugs)
• offering onward referrals to receive additional support such as benefits advice, home fire safety visits and access to other FREE energy efficiency schemes such as insulation, heating upgrades and white good appliances.
We regularly attend and host community events and stalls and are very keen on partnering with organisations that support vulnerable households to provide tailored support to meet the client’s needs and maximise the benefits of this project.
