Sustainable Urban Mobility – Air Quality, Climate Action, and Accessibility (SUM-ACA) is a flagship initiative under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India and the German FederalMinistry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)aimed at transforming India's urban transport landscape by fostering sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient mobility solutions. SUM-ACA is dedicated to enhancing air quality, mitigating climate change, and improving accessibility in Indian cities by promoting innovative, people-centric approaches.
In collaboration with GIZ India and other key stakeholders at national, state and city level, the project aligns with India’s goals and global commitments, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the country’s ambition of achieve net zero emissions by 2070. SUM-ACA is being implemented across Gujarat, Kerala, Odisha, Karnataka and Meghalaya
