Sutter Health Kahi Mohala, Hawaii’s only freestanding, not-for-profit psychiatric hospital, continues a tradition begun in 1983 of comprehensive behavioral health rehabilitation, recovery and personal growth for patients from age four through adult. In 1993, Kahi Mohala became part of the Sutter Health family and is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent agency that evaluates 21,000 healthcare organizations in the nation.
Kahi Mohala, Hawai‘i’s first and only free-standing licensed center for psychiatry specializing in behavioral healthcare, offers acute residential and partial hospitalization programs designed to address the needs of those affected by mental illness.
Located in Ewa Beach, its 14-acre park-like campus hosts a five-building inpatient facility with 88 licensed beds. Both the programs and setting are designed to help people address emotional, physical or behavioral health issues. The facility is certified by TRICARE and Medicare/Medicaid.
Kahi Mohala is a leading provider of treatment for major mental illnesses such as depression and bipolar disorder, as well as behavioral problems that impact school performance and family life. We also provide specialty treatment services and a variety of rehabilitative services. Signature programs include the Na Hoku program for children, Puuhonua and Kahua Hookele programs for adolescents, and Reality Oriented Physical Experiential Services (R.O.P.E.S.) challenge course.
Kahi Mohala serves children and adolescents from across the Hawaiian Islands and throughout the Pacific Rim. We also serve adults in partnership with Hawaii Department of Health.
