The Swiss Malaria Group (SMG) brings together research institutions, public and private sector organizations and civil society to combat Malaria. Switzerland is a pioneer in the fight against malaria. We have had many successes through the years and continue to pledge our knowledge, innovation and commitment to the ultimate defeat of malaria.
The Swiss Federal Office for Development Cooperation (SDC) heads the Group that was founded in 2007 and encompasses 14 members from the private and public sectors and civil society. The Swiss Malaria Group’s secretariat coordinates the activities of the Swiss Malaria Group. The Secretariat is based in the office of Medicus Mundi Switzerland in Basel.
SMG’s mission is to engage Swiss leaders to:
- Recognize the work of the Swiss malaria community
- Provide leadership against malaria
- Strengthen research and innovation
- Fight malaria on the ground
