Symbiant Pathologie Overview

Symbiant is het diagnostisch pathologielaboratorium van Noord-Holland (noord) en verzorgt diagnostiek voor alle aangesloten ziekenhuizen, meerdere ZBC’s en huisartsen in de regio. Door samenwerking van de medewerkers op meerdere locaties kunnen wij hoogwaardige, efficiënte diagnostiek verrichten. De medische staf bestaat uit ca. 19 pathologen waardoor er brede allround kennis aanwezig is, alsmede veel ruimte voor subspecialisatie. Naast regulier histologisch, (immuun)histochemisch en cytologisch onderzoek, zijn onze laboratoria ook uitgerust om (hoog volume) moleculaire diagnostiek te verrichten. Hierdoor leveren wij een belangrijke bijdrage aan de oncologische centra in Noord-Holland, o.a. op het gebied van de longoncologie en mammacare. Tevens verzorgen wij moleculaire HPV-screening in het kader van het bevolkingsonderzoek (BVO) baarmoederhalskanker en zijn wij gecertificeerd voor het BVO-darmkanker. Voor de postmortale zorg hebben wij de beschikking over twee ruime sectiekamers met goed opgeleid ondersteunend personeel en dedicated obductiepathologen die gespecialiseerd zijn in klinische en/of (semi) forensische obducties. Sinds september 2018 heeft Symbiant het ISO-certificaat (ISO 15189). Dit kwaliteitslabel geeft aan dat Symbiant voldoet aan de eisen voor kwaliteit en competenties specifiek voor medische laboratoria. De B-opleiding tot patholoog wordt door Symbiant Alkmaar verzorgd in samenwerking met het Amsterdam UMC.
