Syracuse - Autonomous Crane Technologies

Syracuse - Autonomous Crane Technologies company information, Employees & Contact Information

Syracuse is a crane-specific system, augmenting new and in-use tower cranes with autonomous operating capabilities. The system provides Operator Assistance functionality including optimal lift-plan and Obstacle avoidance from adjacent tower cranes, mobile cranes, buildings, powerlines, and ground obstacles. Syracuse enables crane self-operation, relinquishing control to the human operator only in edge situations. Maneuvering the load from pickup to drop off on a collision-free, optimal trajectory, the system continuously monitors the crane, the load and the environment, dynamically adapting the lift-plan to cope with external influences such as wind and new obstacles. By plotting the optimal trajectory and ensuring safe operation, Syracuse reduced load cycle times, significantly improving crane efficiency. Founded in late 2018, Syracuse includes experts in the fields of Aerospace & Automotive, advanced robotics and construction. The company’s innovative Motion Technology is protected by numerous patents, from as early as 2019. Seed funding of $1.5M was raised in early 2019, led by Skyline - Israel's largest tower crane rental company. As of mid 2020, Syracuse is operating advanced system prototypes installed on commercial tower cranes, and “Live” construction site testing is scheduled for early 2021.
