The Telfer Asset Management League (TAML) is a student-led initiative at the University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Management, designed to provide participants with practical experience in managing diversified investment portfolios.
Each winter semester, TAML assembles a team of student asset managers who collaboratively develop and implement investment strategies within a simulated environment. This hands-on approach allows members to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, enhancing their understanding of asset allocation and portfolio management.
Beyond portfolio management, TAML participants engage in activities such as presenting investment strategies, producing fund reports, and preparing for competitions like the McGill International Portfolio Challenge (MIPC). These experiences not only cultivate technical skills but also foster critical thinking and strategic decision-making abilities, preparing students for successful careers in finance.
