Taylor & Boyd was founded in 1962 by chartered engineers who wanted to combine the best traditional and contemporary practice with innovation and over the half-century of our existence, we have been involved in more than 16000 projects throughout Northern Ireland and beyond. With a staff of thirty, Taylor & Boyd is one of the largest privately-owned structural engineering consultancy firms in Northern Ireland, resourced for, and aspiring to, providing the quality service that best meets clients’ requirements.
Projects on which Taylor & Boyd provides civil and structural engineering advice range from small private schemes to large commercial sector developments. Our portfolio includes leisure centres, community centres, schools, hospitals, hotels, supermarkets, commercial and industrial complexes, offices, transport facilities, places of worship, and residential accommodation, both public and private.
A wide variety of investigative work and reporting is undertaken by the practice, in relation to damage claims, conditions of structures, and providing advice for the refurbishment of old/historic buildings. We have extensive experience in assessing the structural condition of properties and investigating defects in buildings; and we have worked alongside most of the Northern Ireland’s loss adjustors in investigating problems related to subsidence, flooding, fire and accidental damage.
Taylor & Boyd has been Quality-assured to BS EN ISO 9001 since December 1993, Environmentally-assured to BS EN ISO 14001 since 2002 and Health & Safety-assured to OHSAS 18001 since 2008.
