The TC on Robot Control (RC) is dedicated to reinforcing the role of RC disciplines within the Robotics and Automation Society by deepening our understanding of mechanical systems dynamics, advancing (model-based) control theory, and enhancing their practical implementation in modeling, characterizing, and controlling robotics systems. The committee focuses on preserving, disseminating, and advancing knowledge in control to ensure its relevance and practical application. This includes initiatives like specialized workshops at leading conferences and educational programs such as PhD schools to equip the next generation of researchers. Additionally, by reintroducing dedicated RC sessions and amplifying voices that advocate for foundational RC principles, the committee aims to prevent the fragmentation of the community, counteract the view of the field as outdated, and ensure its accessibility, particularly for groups with limited funding.
