We launched Team Nikhil in memory of our son, Nikhil, who lost his battle to a rare disease called Microcephaly-Capillary Malformation Syndrome. This resulted in a severe form of epilepsy known as Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. Nikhil also had cognitive disability, was non-verbal, and was wheelchair dependent. When Nikhil died in 2021 at the age of 12, our whole world shattered. Reflecting on our journey made us realize that Nikhil taught us strength and resilience - inspiring us to help other children like him. Because it took a "team" for Nikhil to thrive, we named our organization Team Nikhil.
