Team Vegapod Hyperloop, a student-driven initiative from MIT World Peace University, Pune, India, is at the forefront of advancing hyperloop technology. The team crafts subscale hyperloop prototypes and has had the honor of representing Bharat at various prestigious forums. In 2024, Team Vegapod Hyperloop proudly represented Bharat at the European Hyperloop Week, hosted by the prestigious ETH Zurich, Switzerland. At this event, the team showcased their fourth innovative prototype, VAJRA, which earned them a place among the top 2 teams globally in the mechanical, electrical, and guidance subsystem categories. Their success was particularly significant as they were the only Indian team to successfully navigate the rigorous scrutiny of the esteemed jury and proceed to demonstrate their prototype at the event. In addition to their technical achievements, the team was honored with the Outreach Award 2024, a testament to their exceptional efforts in promoting the acceptance and awareness of hyperloop technology among the general public. Team Vegapod Hyperloop is now preparing for the European Hyperloop Week’25, which will be hosted at the European Hyperloop Centre in the Netherlands. Fueled by unwavering dedication and a commitment to innovation, the team is eager to compete for top honors once again. This season, they are incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as magnetic levitation, contactless propulsion, vacuum compatibility, and advanced thermal management systems into their prototype. Their mission is not only to bring further distinction to their university but also to proudly represent Bharat on the global stage, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in hyperloop technology.
