We are living in a world in flux, and as young people we have the raw end of the deal.
Shifting political landscapes, uncertain futures and broken promises are creating ‘sides’, driving wedges between us and raising anxiety levels. We are having to summon the courage to 'find our brave' quicker, faster and often on our own.
Courage is about owning your fear, not being fearless. It's not just reserved for superheroes; but stories of saving lives, starting movements and changing the world can make courage feel out of reach.
Courage is about standing up to be heard and sitting down to listen. No courage is bigger or smaller than another. TEDxYouth@Brum will share stories of overcoming fear; the triumphs and challenges from the everyday to the once-in-a-lifetime.
TEDxYouth@Brum is inspired by the incredible team behind TEDxBrum and seeks to drive a deeper conversation between young people in the city by offering them a platform to be challenged, inspired and exposed to 'ideas worth sharing'.
The first ever TEDxYouth@Brum is coming to Birmingham Hippodrome on 11th October 2017 and will explore the theme of Courage through mind blowing talks and performers across the arts, sciences, education, business, technology and civil society.
