TEKTRO Technology Corporation is located in Changhua, outside Taichung, Taiwan. The company was founded by three friends Gary Chen, Leo Chen and Aver Tsai in 1986 producing cantilever brakes. 1999 TEKTRO launched its first hydraulic disc brake, which still is the company‘s most successful and important product. Today, TEKTRO has production facilities in Taiwan and China with over 1,400 employees and provides sales and service in Taiwan, China, Europe and USA.
The TRP brand stands for TEKTRO Racing Products and represents high level performance products, like DH R EVO hydraulic disc brakes and new mountainbike drivetrain systems. TRP has a R&D office in downtown Taichung.
